The World´s Largest Blasting Robot
The design team of Blastman Robotics was asked to automate the blast cleaning process for offshore components over 48 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 15 meters high. The result was the world's largest blast-cleaning robot with 10-meter-long telescopes. Due to the limited space available, the production and testing of the robot required an exceptional effort. Both the hall roof and the floor were opened for the factory acceptance test so that the robot, including the control cabin, could be installed through the hall roof and the two telescopes could be extended far into the floor. The robot system also includes a man-lift platform, which can be attached to the 10-meter telescope. The system is designed according to ATEX regulations, so the platform can also be used for painting operations—a real 2 in 1 solution for surface treatment.
In Hall 2 - Booth 2146 of the PaintExpo, Blastman Robotics is presenting the small brother of this innovative blasting robot including the intuitive offline programming software BLASTMAN STUDIO and the latest control systems which enable the connection to the Manufacturing Execution System and the control of various Smart Blast Room functions. As a result, the Blastman robots can be easily implemented even in existing blasting chambers and not only perform the blasting process faster and with higher quality but also more safely and cost-effectively.
